Just as I would like to get to know you, I feel that, likewise, you should know a little about me.
I grew up on a ranch in Gering, Nebraska that was homesteaded by my Great Grandparents (The Ewings).
After graduating from Gering High School in 1982, I attended Nebraska Western College where I earned my Associate of Applied Science.
In 1985 I decided to get out and see a little bit of the world by joining the U.S. Army. I attended Basic Training and AIT at Fort Jackson, SC. Upon completion and obtaining the MOS of 71L, they shipped me off to Ansbach, Germany where I worked for 1st Armored Division. In 1986 my duty station changed to Fort Myer, Virginia where I worked for the Military District of Washington Reenlistment office until I was Honorably discharged in 1987. I then worked for various firms around the DC area as an administrative assistant.
Now you may ask how I got into Real Estate. It was in 1997 when I got tired of seeing the Real Estate Course sign at the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors as I drove to and from work. I decided to take the class and realized that it was both an opportunity and a challenge to run a business that I wanted to be involved in. I knew based on what I put in to the business and whether it would be success would be completely on me and I also liked the idea of being my own boss. I started my career with Weichert Realtors and about 1.5 years later switched over to Remax Regency to in order to fully run my business as a business and to also be able to give my clients the service they deserved.
I started the "Team Concept" about three years ago. The Team allows me to give more service to my clients and give me more time to enjoy my family. I've learned the hard way about being a leader and manager, but as they say, "that that doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. I love Remax, my job and doubt I will ever do anything else.
As far as what I enjoy besides Real Estate? That is tough! It was during my tour in Germany that I met my husband Tim. We have been married 21 years and we have three children... Nikkole, who is 16, Josh, who is 13, and my youngest son Cory, who is 7. When I'm not doing activities with the kids, I love to shop, travel and attend concerts (I love music)! I like to be on the go most of the time and rarely work around the house. If I can avoid cooking or cleaning, I do! Fortunately, Real Estate with the weekend and evening hours, helps me avoid being too much of a domestic engineer (now that is hard work!).
I believe in giving back to the community and am involved with various Charities, our Church and the Chambers of Fauquier & Culpeper Counties.
Well, that is my bio in a nutshell. I eventually would like to move back to our ranch in Nebraska and maybe open up a "Top Notch" Remax office and also run a small cattle ranch. Just an idea, but as I have found out in life... everything changes. I'll just have to see what tomorrow brings.

Home Inspections >Serious Inspections
When you are involved in the process of buying a home, it is safe to assume that you will probably find one that you like, make an offer, and purchase it. There are many steps along the way, and more and more buyers in the market today want guarantees. Inspections by structural engineers and environmental specialists often turn up something wrong with the property you want to buy. Many sales have been halted or delayed because asbestos, lead, or radon was found on the property.
If a problem has been found with the property you want to buy, ask yourself two questions:
1) Can the problem be fixed?
2) If so, what will it cost to repair it?
Some of the following problems could keep you from purchasing a property, if:
1) the house rests on a fault line;
2) the water supply is contaminated;
3) there is a severe crack in the foundation;
4) the house is located under electro-magnetic power lines;
5) the house is contaminated with radon gas.
Enlist your real estate agent's help in identifying the existence of any of these problems prior to buying property.
