About Me

As a real estate agent, it’s important that I get to know my clients so that I can provide them with service that is tailored to their needs and wants. At the same time, I want my clients to get to know me and feel that I am not only their trusted real estate professional but also a friendly and caring person who they can rely on.

I am so passionate about my job as a real estate agent that I’m happy to be a self-confessed "workaholic", always available to serve my clients! I know that everyone has a busy schedule, and I also know that the best homes don't last long. I'll work to get you into the homes you want to see as soon as possible, and I’ll come list your home when it's most convenient for you.

With more than 20 years in the industry, I am considered an expert in local real estate. If you’re wondering how I got into this profession, it was in 1997, when I decided to take a leap of faith and start a real estate course at the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors, instead of looking at the sign every day as I drove to and from work! While taking this course, I began to understand that a great opportunity was being placed in my hands. This was my chance to build a business on my own, which I found exciting, at the same time knew would come with its own challenges and rewards, namely, that my own commitment and motivation would determine my success. I liked the idea of being my own boss.

Once I finished the course, I began my career at Weichert Realtors. After about a year and a half there I moved my business to RE/MAX Regency. RE/MAX Regency gave me an opportunity to run my real estate business the way that I felt was best and to give my clients the superior service that they deserved.

All throughout my career, I've made continuing education a priority. I have earned several distinguished designations, including the Accredited Buyer Representative, Graduate Realtor Institute and Certified Distressed Property Expert designations. Each year, I attend the RE/MAX International Conventions in order to meet with other RE/MAX professionals from across the globe. This helps me to bring home the best new ideas, technologies and resources and put them to excellent use for my clients.

In 2005, I began the "Team Concept". This concept allows me to work with a team of expert real estate agents and support staff to give clients both the best service and most personalized attention. The power of the Team means that I have licensed agents who work with my buyers directly and an unlicensed assistant who communicates with clients and develops marketing materials for homes. Working as a team allows me to run the business, focus on obtaining more listings and enjoy more time with my family. I love RE/MAX , our clients and my career, and doubt I will ever do anything else!

Just as I am interested in finding out about my clients, I like them to know a little about me. I grew up in Gering, Nebraska on a ranch that was founded by my great grandparents, The Ewings. In 1982 I graduated from Gering High School and went on to earn my Associate of Applied Science degree from Nebraska Western College.

In 1985, I joined the United States Army to experience life beyond my small town and to see the world. I completed Basic Training at AIT at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. After obtaining the MOS of 71L, I was shipped to Ansbach, Germany where I worked for 1st Armored Division. By 1986, I was stationed in Fort Myer, Virginia and worked for the Military District of Washington Reenlistment office until I was honorably discharged in 1988. After being honorably discharged, I spent several years working as an administrative assistant in the Washington D.C. region.

During my tour in Germany, I met my husband Tim. We’ve been married for 31 years and have three children together, Nikkole, 26, Josh, 23 and Cory, 17. We are also the proud grandparents to our 6-year-old grandson, Liam.

If I'm not working with my clients, then I’m pursuing my other favorite activities:  spending time with my children, enjoying shopping, traveling, visiting local wineries and attending concerts. Music is truly one of my passions in life, which works out well since I spend so much of my time in the car driving to and from listing appointments. I totally enjoy my on-the-go lifestyle, and you won't find me spending a lot of time around my house. I'd much rather be on-the-go than cooking and cleaning, which are my favorite activities to avoid! Fortunately, real estate, with its weekend and evening hours, keeps me from being too much of a domestic engineer, which is really hard work!

I am committed to our local community and make it a priority to donate not only money but also time to local charities, including the Wounded Warrior Project, Veterans of Foreign Wars, our Church and the Chambers of Fauquier & Culpeper Counties.

Well, that is my bio in a nutshell. Eventually, I would like to move back to our ranch in Nebraska and maybe open up a "Top Notch" RE/MAX office and also run a small cattle ranch.  Just an idea, but as I have found out in life... everything changes. I'll just have to see what tomorrow brings.
